Saint Anthony Medical Center is opening its newest state-of-the-art health center in St. John on April 14. The new $5 million, 17,000 square foot center is the fourth Saint Anthony health center to open in the last two years.
Other health centers opened in Winfield, Valparaiso and Schererville in 2006. In addition to the St. John health center, the medical center is opening a new 68-acre health complex in August and another health center off Broadway on the border of Merrillville and Crown Point in the fall of 2008.
The I-65 site, called Franciscan Point, will offer physician services, outpatient diagnostics, urgent care, sports medicine, athletic development, physical therapy and more.
Saint Anthony-St. John is located at 10860 Maple Lane at the corner of Parrish Street and Rt. 231 serving the communities of St. John, Cedar Lake, the west side of Crown Point and southern parts of Schererville and Dyer.
An open house for the public is scheduled for Sunday, August 13, 2008 from 1 to 4 p.m. Free health screenings including blood pressure, blood sugar, pulmonary function testing and bone density will be offered. Drawings for a Radisson Star Plaza package, two full body massages and a sports mountain bike will be featured. Refreshments and free giveaways will also be available.
In addition to physician services, the health care facility will offer diagnostic imaging (radiology, CT scan, ultrasound) and laboratory blood draws.
Physicians moving to the new location include Rishi Sud, M.D., family medicine, and Jennifer Murphy, M.D., obstetrics and gynecology. Both are board certified in their respective professions. They offer services in women’s health, adult and pediatric care, geriatrics, diabetic management, adolescent medicine, minor outpatient surgery, laparoscopic surgery, school and sports physicals, preventive health and wellness visits.
