The annual celebration of the Feast of St. Luke, patron saint of physicians, packed the Corpus Christi Chapel at Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point, on Oct. 9.
Physicians, their families, and other attendees noted the observance during a Mass celebrated by Father Tony Janik.
Dr. Cathleen Mok and Dr. Lisa Gold did the first and second readings, respectively. Dr. John King (left), vice president of medical affairs, led the prayer of the faithful and recited the names of the hospital’s 42 deceased physicians. As he read the names, Father Janik lit a candle in their honor and also during the Mass, paid tribute to the doctors for their dedication and praised their talents in caring for and healing patients.
